Land is being cleared along Hugh Howell Road to build a section of the city-wide trail network from Mountain West Trail to Marthasville Court. This section is a continuation of the trail from Smoke Rise Elementary School headed east. It will enable those living on every residential street in the City of Tucker east of the school, south of the railroad tracks, north of Hugh Howell Road, and west of Rosser Road to reach the path on Hugh Howell Road and walk or bike to the school.
Eventually the trail will run the length of Hugh Howell Rd down to US 78 and extend into Stone Mountain Park.
